Protea Wilds Retreat
Safe, peaceful, stunning views, great affordability. Peace and tranquillity like you've never experienced before. Conveniently situated close to Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, close enough to enjoy all the activities in and around the area. Abundant with bird life, protea and fynbos.
These units can sleep 2 adults/older kids each, or for groups up to 12 (some kids can share if booked as a whole).
All studio units have a separate bathroom with shower and toilet. All the units have a dining table and two chairs, a bathroom basin, bed/s, shelves/hanging space inside. All units have a covered, screened-off patio, leading to partially screened off open deck with lovely views over the garden and mountains. Patios close up between units to form a "cubicle" for single units or open up between units if a few are booked next to each other. Table with umbrella. All units are spacious (about 30m²/40m² without patio and deck).
All units have kitchenettes or separate little kitchen, equipped with a 130 litre small fridge or bigger, all crockery and cutlery, 2 plate gas stove, microwave, kettle and toaster. Counter top, with shelves underneath and a single basin.
Forest also has a private shaded bbq area next to it and sliding doors leading to the covered patio and an electric two plate stove and oven.
The Oyster unit is situated first, closest to the parking and communal areas. Followed by Stokkiesdraai 2nd, Ostrich 3rd, Elephant 4th, Choo-Tjoe 5th and Forest. All units have fans for summer. Enough warm water. Extra blankets, hot water bottles and heaters for winter.
Free Wi-Fi in all the units as well as the communal areas.
Park at the shaded parking (between 10 and 30m away from the units), a lit garden path going past all the units to the front, leads to each unit, about 4 steps up.
The Fynbosskerm is about 10 - 30 metres in front and to the side of the units. Communal area with large, fully equipped kitchen, very spacious dining/breakfast room with wood burning stove. Lounge with a fireplace and DSTV (most popular channels, incl Disney, Kyknet). It leads onto a pool deck with solar heated splash pool. Large braai lapa with fire pit, as well as two additional private bbq's areas. Breathtaking views from all locations.

Safety and security
You can be assured of great safety and security. Gated security community, no through roads. 270 hectares of open spaces to breathe.
Included/supplied:
Self-catering, linen, towels, bag of firewood (extra for sale @ R20 per bag), shampoo, shower gel, hand soap, lotion, shower cap, vanity kit, and toilet paper supplied. Coffee and tea on arrival. Units and communal areas are serviced periodically during high season times and during the week. No service on public holidays and Sundays. Service can be arranged other times at an extra charge. Being water- and electricity wise, linen is changed once a week and towels twice a week.
What else to do?
Go on one of our walks on the farm. Book a picnic basket to enjoy special, purposely built and romantic picnic area with stunning views. Breakfast optional.
Relax next to the pool with only the sounds of silence (or nature) around you.
Bring your mountain bike and explore the farm as well as the mountain bike trails through the Knysna forest a few kilometres away. All mountain bike routes on the farm for free and a bike cleaning station is available.
Quad bike rides available on a neighbouring farm (5km away). Book a sumptuous cheese and local wine lunch with our wine making neighbour, Packwood(4km away)
Adventure Land and Harkerville Farmers Market on a Saturday only 11kms away. Sasol Garage for 24 hour, basics, only 9 kms away. Please see more activities within 20kms at the end of this!
