Our fully equipped lodge kitchen may be used for preparing and cooking meals. the ideal bush getaway, although still very accessible off the N12 just outside Christiana, North West. Private braai facilities are available for our guests for relaxing self catering evenings under the stars or for a cozy evening in the boma. There are 5 species of Kingfishers, and, Fish Eagles nest on the river side.The best bird watching is of course from the river itself and from the bird hides near the vleis.Cawoods Hope Farm is a peaceful anglers paradise. There are 2 main fish species, Catfish, Sharp Toothed and Carp, Mirror and grass.There are Yellow fish, Large Mouth, Small Mouth, not far away in the faster FLOWING STREAMS, UPSTREAM AND DOWN STREAM IN THE vAAL river. 25KG PLUS CAN BE CAUGHT THROUGHOUT THE SEASON.Cawoods Hope Farm has a long history of alluvial diamond digging.At its peak at the turn of the century there were over 150 prospectors panning for diamonds on one section of the farm. This site can still be viewed today and still holds large amounts of semi precious stones such as Agate, Tigers Eye, Jasper, Carnelian, Quartz and many other.
