Nissan Trek
Welcome to Nissan South Africa.Take a new look at Nissan. In the words of Nissan Design Director Shiro Nakamura, design is the most vital point of contact between us, the manufacturer and you, the driver. And if there’s one design methodology that guides us consistently, it’s this. The most successful and widely loved products are, paradoxically, those created with the most specific individual in mind. Take for example, the X-TRAIL. Design development started at surf spots, mountain trails, and water sport shoresides. Places we thought outdoor enthusiasts would take their SUVs. But once we got there, we saw more station wagons, trucks and vans (all ingeniously reconfigured with shelves, cords, mats and the like). Most SUVs were too plush we thought, and not robust enough for the people we met, so we dumped the sand out of our shoes and returned to the studio on a mission to create something just for them. The boldly styled and practically crafted X-TRAIL was the result. You’ll feel our passion for performance every time you get behind the wheel of a Nissan. Often, it’s in the competitive, even class-leading, power output. Often, it’s in the quick, rich, torquey surge as your foot floors the pedal. And it’s in the sensitive steering and taut suspension that make for a lively give and take between you, the car and the road. From 0-100 km/h, or the other way around; slicing through a 45 degree curve or cruising a seemingly endless stretch of road. In every instance, we’ll move you with a responsiveness, agility, and spirit that is characteristically Nissan. Forefront in our minds is the fusion of performance-based technology with expert engineering for human benefit. Consider Nissan’s award-winning V6 QX engine. It’s Nissan technology, forged from a lightweight aluminum-alloy block and cylinder head, merged with other lightweight components, and enhanced by advanced friction-reducing techniques like Formula One-inspired microfinishing.Nissan constantly seeks to improve real-world safety, as part of the Safety Shield concept. The idea is that cars should help protect people, and that advanced and proactive safety technologies should help driver and passengers to avoid danger and injury in a wide range of circumstances. By analyzing accident data, we’ve developed a range of unique technologies to help ensure that you and your passengers reach your destinations safe and sound. Our new QASHQAI was awarded the maximum five-star rating by the European New Car Assessment Program, and received the highest ever adult occupant score recorded by any vehicle.
