Mikes Kitchen Alberton
Welcome to Mike's Kitchen.Mike’s Kitchen continuously strives to exceed it’s customers expectations by providing a holistic & professional service, with particular emphasis to high quality & generous portions in an atmosphere of fun, through its friendly, professional, enthusiastic and highly trained staff. The continued success of a business is reliant on the fact that the owner, manager or stake holder takes a “hands on” approach to running the store. The very first Mike’s Kitchen was well ahead of it’s time, situated in trendy Greenside on the first floor of a building
It was there that Mike created a restaurant that embraced all that he had envisioned. It had the quality and feel of a kitchen in a much-loved home. Wooden floors gleamed in contrast with the plastic-coated gingham table cloths. There was not a starched napkin in sight. The ambience was cosy, and stiff formality had no place.
A large fish tank stand was awkwardly positioned in the restaurant, posing a potential difficulty. But, not one to compromise, Mike found a creative solution. He turned the fishtand stand into South Africa’s first salad bar – a concept that caught on and has to this day been copied by loads of admiring followers.
And then there was the food. Mike was a true South African at heart and enthusiastically embraced his heritage. Instead of turning to foreign cooking for inspiration, Mike decided that local was lekker and compiled a menu reflecting the heart of South African tables.Core purpose:To create a fun, South African family orientated chain of restaurants that serves great food.
