Young Designers Emporium (YDE) was established to showcase South Africas emerging talent. The emporium attracts fashion forward consumers. In addition to fashion clothing, YDE includes such items as shoes, bags and accessories. YDE has created a store for young, trendy customers of both sexes and is able to offer cutting edge, sexy, chic, expressive, edgy, underground and original clothing & accessories to customers who follow both local and international trends, but who are individualists who do not conform to set or pre-defined standards.The Young Designers Emporium is at the forefront of identifying and supporting local fashion talent and our Rising Talent initiative is part of this philosophy. With the Rising Talent initiative, we are underlining this attitude and bringing you a taster of future fashion talent. Rising Talent fashion is available at selected YDE stores on a rail with Rising Talent signage.The premise of YDE was conceptualised as a means to showcase the local talent of South Africas clothing, footwear and accessory designers. YDE created a store for young, trendy customers of both sexes and was able to offer original, sexy, chic, expressive, edgy, and exclusive designer clothing and accessories to customers who followed both local and international trends, but were individualists who did not conform to set, or pre-defined, standards. YDE opened its stores with only 10 designers and currently houses in excess of 80 local fashion designers who supply YDE outlets nationwide. The very premise of our business is to showcase the latest in South African fashion design. We work with a pool of very talented young South African designers where 95% of our merchandise is locally made. The categories of merchandise available within YDE stores comprise of clothing, footwear, bags, accessories and jewellery.
